Seem tape is a 6″50′ double-stick elastomeric tape used with NAC sheets or liquid-applied membrane systems. Seam Tape waterproofs and seals seams, joints, shower curbs, external decks, and other protrusions. It must be used with a suitable NAC primer and can be applied inside and outside. The exposed areas of seam tape must be covered with membrane because it is NOT a stand-alone product.
Application
To prepare the surface for membrane installation, follow the instructions. Apply the proper primer to the area where the seam tape and membrane will be put using the Primer Reference table as a guide
Trim the membrane and seam tape to the desired length. Place the seam tape so that the membrane is 3″ away from the seam tape and the release paper is facing down.
Using the flat side of a trowel, press seam tape into place after releasing paper from the underside and applying it to the primed area.
Give the membrane a 3-inch margin of overlap with the seam tape. Begin the second membrane over the final 3 inches of seam tape, then butt-join the sheet membranes. The membranes should NOT be overlapping.
After removing the protective film from its top, press the membrane into the seam tape. To complete the installation, use a 75-100# roller or the flat side of a trowel.
